Preventing Bullying and Promoting Inclusion through Social-Emotional Learning
Featuring Special Guest Naama Yefet
Research shows that 40-80% of all students will experience some form of bullying throughout their time in school, with students with disabilities two to three times more likely to be bullied than their non-disabled peers. Promoting inclusion is critical to preventing bullying of students with and without disabilities. The integration of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) programming within inclusion classrooms, where students with and without disabilities are learning together, can significantly decrease the likelihood of bullying by promoting skills, behaviors, attitudes, and environmental factors that are incompatible with bullying. In this webinar, Accelify's Customer Support and Training Manager, Naama Yefet, will discuss how inclusion classrooms can improve social interactions of students with disabilities, the impact of bullying on students with and without disabilities, and will explore how integrating a school-wide SEL curricula and framework can support bullying prevention.

In this webinar you will learn about:

The academic and social benefits of inclusion on students with and without disabilities, as well as learning theories related to inclusion
The definition, prevalence, and consequences of bullying and its damage on children with and without disabilities

The connection between SEL and bullying prevention, including strategies that can help schools apply a school-wide SEL framework
